I really like computer-based creation.
React-Native. React. Blender. Godot. Substance 3D. Zbrush. P5. I love it all! Amateur at everything and happy with that.
@designcoursecom Impossible. They hired ethicists, sir. World-class ethicists, from an esteemed Ivy league university. How could you accuse them of something so crass as marketing, knowing that?
(This is a joke. I have to say that explicitly because this is X dot com, the Everything App.)
@mexopolis Honestly I just want to see if you can actually make something good with it, because so far every single professional use of AI has meant "We're giving you something objectively worse, but cheaper and faster".
Putting everything else aside let's see if that continues.
@Parseldia What stood out to me most about Goblin Slayer is how the first, last, and middle eps contain some horrifying visuals and in between all of those is strangely adorable character development, it's whiplashy in a fun way.
@designcoursecom I wonder how many are people who used to use their skill to enable their terrible personality traits ("Yeah I'm a jerk but I'm a good at what I do so you just have to deal with it") who are eternally bitter that that leverage has been seriously degraded.
Just saw Gameoververse.
Honestly? I expected something not good. Because what are the odds Glitch could follow up TADC with something as good? Especially in pilot form?
This was just one long stream of masterstrokes and bullseyes, I love it.
The Mixtape controversy isn't just about a game anymore, but a referendum on the influence of games journalists.
If it flops, it will be a nail in the coffin of games journalism as it is and more sites will be told "Oh you want to review our game, cool, go buy it".
Honestly, I just remembered that I used to try and make a toaster in Blender and consistently failed, because curves + booleans + normals is kind of rough when you're new.
Well, good news, I know how to deal with that now, so the toaster is complete without issue.
I now absorb what AI-boosting Youtube personalities are discussing by feeding their videos through a vibe-coded locally running server that transcribes and summarizes their 40 minute talk without the ads or nonsense.
Not sure if this is irony but it's definitely pleasant.
Irony: I ran this through AI just to see what it would do, and it did something.
It made me realize I screwed up the anatomy, and that jawline should be continuous with the ear. That back of the head part is out of place.
Oh well, lesson for next time.
I play Chucky for my first time ever and go up against survivors who just passive-aggressively stand still because I'm doing good.
It kinda sucks, because I want the people I play with to have fun too. Yes even complete strangers.
Do I have to throw matches more?
@IsThisA3DModel And if they don't, get ready for an announcement like "Starting next month, Blender will no longer be an open source project. Here's what this means for you," and assurance that Blender will remain free, you just need to login with your Anthropic account to use it.
As much as people like to fight about AI, the people most passionate about it don't want to actually debate it.
Because Team AI, for all its faults, is going to ask questions like "What about brush packs? Plugins? Kitbashing? Photobashing?" that anti-AI people want to ignore.
@exec_sum Yeah uh you got a plan for when folks tear that stuff off my siding? Crackheads with the coppa were bad enough, now you gonna attract nerds who are one crowbar away from generating all the My Little Pony porn they want with LTX 2.3?
If you play Dead by Daylight as Survivor and never intentionally hurtle yourself towards the killer to buy time for everyone else to finish gens or escape last hook, you are not playing the game right.
