Anyone know of a private or 'right to choose' psychiatrist/psychologist in the UK who specialises in psychosis AND dissociation. Not one or the other, and not a researcher, an actual practising clinician who is currently seeing patients?
@Sectioned_ My son's CPN doesn't seem to have any understanding about simple things, struggles to make the basis of reasonable adjustments or say what the purpose of the appointments are. Honestly I am feeling quite frustrated because I just know at some point I will hear not engaging.
@DrRosena Protecting people with learning disabilities..... Not until the community support has improved and support and services are appropriately inspected
@THEPFY2009@Shrink_at_Large I was told to stop working last year and I am still working, it's too scary to make decisions without knowing if it was right or not, plus I hate change. Will probably drop dead while working because I don't know how to retire early without a great deal of support
@jdibon I find even physiotherapy tends to make things worse but I don't know why. Especially because that's what I keep getting told is needed to strengthen everything 🤔 😴
It is possible to get it right. Trouble is…commissioners don’t usually want to. It’s easier to purchase what’s available rather than commission what’s needed. It’s also worth bearing in mind that there are examples where housing has been made available but the care is still dreadful, and we end up with mini institutions in the community. But you won’t be able to report on those because they get tied up in the so-called court of protection.
@SharonSpinkAct@SpcialNdsJungle The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training is great but it only covers tier 1 and tier 2 capabilities. Some staff will need specialist training at tier 3 level but this is not currently mandatory
@PHSOmbudsman One of the issues for many people complaining about health and social care is even once the truth has been revealed, the same thing is repeated over and over again because they are allowed to get away with breaching statutory duties time and time again
@jeremycorbyn Just another thing to make me feel miserable & unsupported by my government as a working disabled unpaid carer, going to the allotment when I get a little me time is what has kept me going at times. Life is blooming hard & all the joy is being sucked out by systems
Why is it I've had it worse, I've been able to do this so you should too or you should do this or that, rather than realising experiences are different & supporting each other and actually and rightfully placing the issue with the government & services failing most of us
@DanielHewittITV Councils throw money at these companies who have staff who haven't been trained & aren't able to speak the same language as us so I do the care while they get paid for nothing. Staff have even left the country to avoid a safeguarding inquiry
@asifamhp I agree it can be extremely difficult to predict who is at risk but something that really bothers me is when none or inappropriate risk or suitable assessments aren't even completed & predictions are based on individual people's personal views
