@tafkam_uk @RITB_ @MentalHealthCop A man escaped from a mixed-sex ward I had previously stayed on and within hours had killed a member of the public. Don't you dare tell me I should be locked in with him when I am at my most poorly and vulnerable.

@tafkam_uk @RITB_ @MentalHealthCop And staff have said to me that abolishing mixed-sex wards would be unfair on male inpatients as there are more of them. The result is female patients outnumbered by male patients - typically 2:1 - and therefore isolated in their rooms where staff can't get to know & support them.
