Its stated priorities for its community #mentalhealth service focus on imminent risks of hospital admission or physical harm
As if it's morphed into a crisis-only service
Nothing about helping folks with SMI

That the course of the illness *without* needed care, treatment & support is so awful

Even though I've ended up declining, relapsing, in hospital, under the home treatment team

I was a 'stiffrump' for a decade when I tried determinedly to get NHS #mentalhealth services to provide NICE-recommended (or any) care for SMI & PTSD & to get #socialcare services to provide the care they'd assessed me as needing
Now I accept they never will

Every so often, I self-refer to my local IAPT service, just for fun
They never agree to provide therapy
But at least they assess me before declining
Secondary #mentalhealth services, otoh, either ignore referrals from all sources, or decline without seeing me

The help I need is known - it's what worked before where I lived before
It's not much
It's no mystery
But a choice has been made to not provide needed help
It is a choice made by people to turn away, to walk away - to protect services by excluding me

Back then - 2 years post-sectioning, 2 years post-diagmosis - I was still expecting to receive the help I needed to manage serious mental illness & live an ordinary life
Sadly, that help never came
