Six Australians remain missing after the #NepalTibetFloods. We have credible information placing them at/near the Nepal Immigration area in Timure, close to the China border.

1. Arpan Mithalal Kothari
2. Bhavinkumar Rajnikant Raval
3. Karan Bhardwaj
4. Sandeep Mohapatra
5. Siddharthi Kumari Sahu
6. Kanagamah Sundrasan

A. They were likely in the Immigration office at 8:35 AM Nepal Time based on last processed immigration. (based on Nepal immigration records)
B. They must have felt the earthquake (5.2 on Richter Scale) when the Glacier collapse and therefore they ran out and away from the immigration building for safety.
C. They moved closer to the Buddha Stupa (away from tall buildings). Approx. Apple iPhone last location of one of the members in this group.
D. Saw the floods coming and ran into the mountains for higher grounds. May be they took the hanging bridge.

If they escaped the flood by moving toward higher ground, the mountains, slopes and ravines around the Immigration/Customs area must be searched on foot.

Australia has already deployed #SpecialistDroneOperators

Please #urgently send/coordinate a rescue team and helicopter capability specifically to this area and press Nepal to conduct a systematic ground search.

Helicopter reconnaissance alone is not enough.

Search the hills. Search the ravines. Search every possible escape route.

These are Australians. Their families are waiting.

Every hour matters. Please help bring them home.

We respectfully ask the Nepal Insurance Authority to urgently coordinate with Nepal's insurers to search for any life, accident, travel or group insurance policies and related claims involving these six people.

Please check for records relating to hospitalization, medical treatment, death claims, recovered remains or related police/medical documentation, and preserve any potentially relevant records.

Where privacy restrictions apply, please coordinate the information with Nepal Police/DVI, relevant authorities and authorized family representatives.

Families can provide passport details, dates of birth, photographs and other identifying information through a secure channel.

Please designate an NIA liaison to coordinate this urgent humanitarian search.

I'm hearing contradictory updates and I want to hear it from the authorities to ensure that I'm neither a victim nor a participant in rumor mongering.

Question:
1. Has the Australian government shared any DNA records (not just Arpan) of the missing persons with the Nepal government?
2. Has the Nepal government requested to be supplied with the DNA records of the missing Australians?
3. If you have shared the DNA records, have you verified that the Nepal government has their DNA database updated?
4. Does Nepal have enough DNA testing kits to ensure that they are able to run the tests and update their records?
5. Now that the search and rescue team is out of Nepal (saw ), is there anyone from the Australian embassy who is checking the hospitals or other places to know first hand if any Australian citizens are found?

I understand that some of these questions may be outside of your jurisdiction and so I appreciate your help in this matter and getting the correct information that I can depend on.

Dear Nepal Insurance Authority Team,

I am writing to request the urgent assistance of the Nepal Insurance Authority in connection with six people who remain missing following the Rasuwa/Bhotekoshi disaster of August 26, 2026.

The six missing Australian citizens are:

Families and volunteers are continuing efforts to locate these individuals and establish what happened to them. Given the possibility that one or more of them may have had #LifeInsurance, personal accident insurance, #TravelInsurance, employer-sponsored/group insurance, or other relevant coverage in #Nepal, we believe the insurance sector may have information that could assist the identification and tracing effort.

We respectfully request that the Nepal Insurance Authority consider coordinating with Nepal's licensed insurance companies to:

Search their records for policies held by any of the six missing individuals, using names and, where available, passport numbers, dates of birth, nationality, employer and other identifying information.

Check for any death, accidental-death, hospitalization, medical, travel or other insurance claims associated with these individuals following the August 26 disaster.

Preserve any potentially relevant policy and claim records.

Determine whether any insurer has received information concerning hospitalization, treatment, death, recovery of remains, or a related police/medical report involving any of these individuals.

Where privacy or legal restrictions prevent direct disclosure to members of the public, coordinate the relevant information with Nepal Police, DVI/forensic authorities, the appropriate government agency, or an authorized family representative.

Designate a point of contact at NIA who can coordinate such inquiries with the families and the relevant authorities.

We are not asking NIA or any insurer to disclose confidential policy information improperly. Rather, we are requesting a coordinated search and preservation of potentially relevant information, with any disclosure handled through the appropriate legal and family-authorized channels.

We understand that insurance records may ultimately provide only one piece of the identification process. However, they could potentially establish whether an individual was hospitalized, whether a claim was initiated, whether a death was reported, or whether information exists that can be cross-referenced with @NepalPoliceHQ , hospitals, forensic/DVI records and recovered remains.

Given the continuing uncertainty faced by the families, we would greatly appreciate it if NIA could treat this as an urgent humanitarian request and advise us on the appropriate procedure, documentation and contact person for initiating such a search.

We can provide additional identifying information for each missing person, including passport details, dates of birth, photographs and family contact information, through an appropriate secure channel.

Thank you for your assistance and for any steps the Nepal Insurance Authority can take to help the families establish the whereabouts and status of these six individuals.
