@mohanadalhasan @pharming247 Funnily enough even though I'm arguing for those who failed to have prov I wouldn't choose to do it myself though I feel capable. I would rather put my energy towards passing. It's a lot to ask pre regs to study and be RP. Often the first few months are the most anxiety filled.
@mohanadalhasan @pharming247 Oh I see. Yes I know there is foundation training as well for newly qualifieds but the feedback I've had from them hasn't been that positive. Hopefully the crisis will enable a more structured support to be put in place for new pharmacists + provisional
@mohanadalhasan @pharming247 @TheGPhC@the_pda I honestly don't want to sabotage my future considering how huge they are. I did call the pharmacist support line at the time and was told in the interest of getting signed off to not make a big thing of it. What I would like is a real change for future preregs.
@mohanadalhasan @pharming247 I also had to produce 3 lever arch files of evidence that was never read and was made to spend 4 months solid locked in a room dispensing dosettes. I reported it to the area manager and was told if I wasn't quiet I wouldn't be hired by the major chain in the future.
@mohanadalhasan @pharming247 This is my point. You are put in a position where you are at the mercy of your tutor and their sign offs. I was made to do over time, had zero contact with my tutor and no study time. Not to mention constantly belittled. COVID should highlight prereg is not regulated enough!
@pharming247 @mohanadalhasan I failed the September sitting and never sat the June one. Regardless even if I hadn't sat either I still couldn't because I was 2019 intake not 2020. Even more random restrictions.
@pharming247 @mohanadalhasan It looks unfair because it is unfair. You still haven't actually justified to me why they shouldn't be considered like normal preregs. If it's because you could fail again so could the ones who haven't even sat it.
@pharming247 @mohanadalhasan Because in reality there aren't thousands of us are there? I still don't think you should be considered any differently for failing in the first place. I mean you have come after me for my comment haven't you?
@mohanadalhasan @pharming247 I didn't sit the first after my Father's death and 3 months isn't a lot of time to get over that. I didn't receive the support I should have and too much power lays in prereg employers hands where I was used as a dispenser.
@pharming247 @mohanadalhasan Just to clarify I felt my points were falling on deaf ears. This is extremely personal because not only did I have a horrid placement, when I complained I wasn't heard. I chose to walk away from this thread for my own well being.
@pharming247 @euniyebby@TheGPhC Again, I never said you were? But you felt the need to respond to my comment so I have a right to reply. I'm trying to explain that by that logic if you want to ensure public safety you should not have provisional at all. You're allowing preregs that statistically will fail on.
@pharming247 @euniyebby@TheGPhC I'm not deflecting I'm trying to get to the point of all these comments.
Now you have the stats and you can see in recent years it's been roughly 30%
@pharming247 @euniyebby@TheGPhC When did I ever say they are beneath a pharmacist? They are an integral part of the team. They could have a degree but again that is irrelevant? Define a good pharmacist then because isn't your job to clinical?
@TheGPhC@euniyebby Thank you for responding!
I appreciate you reaching out but I do think there are many of us in this position that would like an official full response.
