May Allah have mercy on his soul. AUN Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed, the 6th President of Somalia, 🇸🇱 Puntland first president was a true patriot whose legacy continues to inspire generations. 🇸🇴

His life was defined by courage, sacrifice, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the Somali nation. During the rule of Ethiopia’s Derg military regime, he was arrested for standing firm in defense of Somalia’s sovereignty and refusing to compromise his principles. He spent years in prison and exile, yet never abandoned his vision of a peaceful, stable, and united Somalia.

His story reminds us that freedom, nation-building, and lasting institutions are never achieved without sacrifice. Great leaders are often tested by hardship, and Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed endured those trials with remarkable determination and resolve.

At one of the darkest periods in Somalia’s history, when the country was consumed by conflict and anarchy, he dedicated himself to rebuilding the state and restoring national institutions. His leadership played a significant role in the establishment of the Federal Republic of Somalia and in creating a path toward governance after years of instability. Whether one agrees or disagrees with every decision he made, his place in Somalia’s modern history is undeniable.

His legacy extends beyond Somalia. His perseverance, patriotism, and steadfast leadership stand as an example to anyone who believes in serving their country with honor, courage, and selflessness. Future generations should remember that nations are built by people willing to sacrifice for something greater than themselves.

May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, accept his sacrifices, grant him the highest level of Jannatul Firdaus, and reward him abundantly for his service to his people and his country.

#Puntland republic President H:E Said Abdullahi Deni
has announced before the Puntland Parliament that Puntland will continue to operate as an independent governing authority until a Somali government is established through genuine national consensus and broad political agreement among all stakeholders.

President Deni argued that the current political trajectory in Somalia has undermined the federal system envisioned by the constitution, and reaffirmed Puntland’s position that it will not recognize unilateral changes to the country’s governance structure. He stated that Puntland will continue managing its own security, administration, and development affairs while advocating for a future Somali state built on consultation, power-sharing, and consensus.

The declaration marks one of the strongest assertions of Puntland’s autonomy since its founding in 1998 and highlights the deepening political rift between Puntland and the Federal Government of Somalia over constitutional reforms, federalism, and the country’s political future.
