We appreciate all the support Mike can get as he goes forward. #MikeLittle4MSOY19 @USNavy #KnowYourMil

If you tweet, please tweet this: @realDonaldTrump, you are Commander in Chief, our @USCG have given the oath to obey your orders and potentially give their life. Honor your authority and admire their loyalty. Tell @senatemajldr send #S21 & #HR367 to sign. #PayOurCoasties

[Raul M. Grijalva @RepRaulGrijalva]

For someone who always touts his regard for the military, Trump's hollow words apparently don't apply to the Coast Guard. The #TrumpShutdown is leaving 42,000 active-duty personnel without pay throughout the holiday season. https://t.co/s2YC03Qr7N

[Kamala Harris @KamalaHarris]

Approximately 42,000 Coast Guard members remain on duty during the government shutdown and their future paychecks are uncertain.

Let that sink in: these servicemembers have defended our country. It's shameful.

[Rep. Don Beyer @RepDonBeyer]

Again, how does Trump’s demand that government agencies like the Coast Guard, FBI, and Dept. of Homeland Security stay shut down until Americans spend billions on a wall he promised Mexico would pay for (which experts say will not secure the border) make us safer?

It doesn’t.

[Jim Langevin @JimLangevin]

No federal workers – including members of the Coast Guard – should be forced to go to extreme lengths just to meet their rent. The President must recognize the damage the #TrumpShutdown is causing and end his demands for an ineffective and expensive wall.https://t.co/k6oOPEGC8d

42,000 Coast Guard members will go without pay during this #TrumpShutdown.

Our service members deserve better than these petty political games. https://t.co/W5oAdA56bO

[Congresswoman Chellie Pingree @chelliepingree]

...Members of #Maine’s Coast Guard are essential to the safety of our waters and the fishermen who work in them every day. They deserve recognition from President Trump not to work without pay due to his needless #shutdown. 2/2 #mepolitics

@RepBonamici, we stand ready to work with you to ensure the @USCG gets paid on the 15th. https://t.co/Gy9k9WBOlK

[Suzanne Bonamici @RepBonamici]

It’s unconscionable that this unnecessary shutdown is forcing them and thousands of members of the Coast Guard & their families to go without paychecks. Politics should never interfere with getting paychecks to our service members.

[Sea Service Family @SSFFoundation16]

Thank you for your help in this critical time, @SenatorCollins, but we must now look to the 15th, because if we dont pass anything before the 12th our members will not be paid on the 15th of the month. We hope to work with your office. https://t.co/Gy9k9WBOlK

[Sen. Susan Collins @SenatorCollins]

Good news for the Coast Guard! White House staff called to tell me CG members will receive their paychecks as did other federal employees. I continue to work to end the shutdown, but this will provide immediate relief to CG members & their families.
