My dad, c/o 1958. My most significant connection from long line of West Pointers. This is what it means to “hate” but also respect and admire - watch 1:56:50-1:57:20 (full starts 1:51:50)

In lieu of all Confederate Champs getting into CFP, Promotion-Relegation is the only alternative that keeps the sport unified in top to bottom
@GroupOfFiveGuys gonna kill me for it, but this is the way
With the new senate proposal more or less encouraging future re-alignment of CFB... I keep coming back to one model that I think are best for the good of the sport.
CFB needs a Pro/Rel model. Split the country into 5 regional sections with tiers going down to FCS.
13 teams in each conference. Play every team in your conference home and away (12 games).
Bottom team in tier 1 gets relegated. Top team in tier 2 gets promoted. Second in Tier 2 plays 12th in Tier 1 in a Pro/Rel playoff game.
16 team playoff with selections chosen by a backward-looking formula based on conference result in past playoffs. The Midwest has won 3 straight titles? They get 4 bids. The Atlantic hasn't won a game in 3 years? They get 2 bids.
This is probably the best true system to store regionality and fairness, but also extremely unrealistic given the total overhaul it would require.
(Conferences aren't perfect. Just something I cooked up in 10 minutes)
We remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives for our freedom.
Their courage, selfless service and commitment to our Nation will never be forgotten.

On the whole “participation trophy” debate.
If you are given access to the CFP simply for PARTICIPATING in a specific conference, then that by definition is “participation trophy” culture.
Win the games you play, win the conference you play in, then prove it vs the other leagues.
Our next award is the Women's Firstie of the Year and it goes to two-sport cadet-athlete Brigid Duffy 👏👏👏
Duffy helped @ArmyWP_WSoccer capture the Patriot League title and led @ArmyWP_WLax to their first NCAA Tournament victory earlier this month.
