PhD opportunity making soils in the lab, and finding out how microbes make them. Without the usual complications....why not add your own? Will be fun!

@JMBecologist Really, whats the point of any journal what with "the internet"? Preprint servers, open code/data,latex, MS Word etc etc. We pay for a stamp. Endorsement could be obtained by other means -eg review before submit, society curation.... Just needs thought, and community willing. RG
CLOSING DATES THIS WEEK! - come work with the
@plant_soil lab @UK_CEH Lancaster on diverse fundamental & applied science projects. We're recruiting for.....
Plant-soil biogeochemist https://t.co/ZbFXLtLRKJ
GHG & soil carbon specialist https://t.co/POYULiLEY1
What controls the recycling of dead soil microbes and why it matters for soil carbon stabilization https://t.co/fJHoTUeool
Latest @SSP_UGRASS paper out in @CommsEarth
And if you're can't get enough of sticky dead microbes, more research here https://t.co/bJ6mt8pbLQ
@wooddecomp @bradfordlab @NoahFierer @vargasfao Another 2cents: "Bad" indicators more likely to be universal, because intensified soils are more homogenous (high-er pH, low OM etc). "Good" indicators never universal, because non-intensified soils vary. These can be established though, by context. Good article! Rob.
Talking at #BES2019. Conclusions so far: the response of soil ecosystem functioning (ie resilience and resistance) to climate disturbances CAN be predicted from initial soil properties and climate. @OceaneNicolitch talking. Project with @frantecol & @Ecology_Holly. #ClimateChange
Synthesising the ecological attributes of taxa retrieved from eDNA studies: A database tool, and taxon level models which can predict community structure, built on a large scale soil bacterial dataset. https://t.co/GvsReSzyJh Great work @BrionyAJones #traits
Our paper is now out in Soil Biology and Biochemistry!
