Our mission - to improve healthcare and health service provision in South Sudan through the active engagement of South Sudanese women in the medical profession.
๐ On #WorldHumanitarianDay, we honor Dr. Fatima Ali, who goes where others wonโt. From Rubkona to Ulang, she takes vaccines & hope to children in the hardest-to-reach corners of South Sudan.

Beyond #WBW2025, we know that breastfeeding is beautiful but not without challenges.
Dr. Manuella & Dr. Athieng show why no mother should face it alone. Support systems save lives. Letโs build them.

@SSOX211@koitiemmily The vaccines are proven safe. The rest of Africa and the world long started using them to save children. South Sudan is one of the last five countries in Africa to put them on its schedule. Please encourage fathers, mothers and guardians around you to ensure children get them.
Today, SSWIM proudly joined the Ministry of Health and other partners at the official launch of PCV & Rotavirus vaccines.
Our ED Dr. @koitiemmily called for equity in access, engagement of private facilities, and domestic funding to sustain progress.

We celebrate Dr. Winnie Costa Mapuor's trailblazing brilliance. From making history last year as South Sudanโs first neurosurgeon to now becoming the first Mission:Brain fellow @BarrowNeuro in USA. This is more than an individual achievement; it's a national victory.
#SSWIMPower
We're excited to introduce our first @missionbrainorg fellow, Winny Mapuor, MD! Dr. Mapuor is in the midst of a six-month #clinicalobservership with #spinesurgeon Laura Snyder, MD, and will remain at Barrow for the 2025-26 academic year as our #SonntagSpineCenter Research Fellow.
Dr. Mapuor is the first South Sudanese #neurosurgeon. She earned her medical degree from the University of Khartoum in Sudan and completed her neurosurgery residency at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia.
"I am excited to be here at Barrow and witness firsthand how #neurosurgery works in this remarkable Institute," she said. "There are a lot of complex spine and cranial surgeries performed throughout the week, and it's been a pleasure attending them. It's also been wonderful attending clinics with Dr. Snyder and getting insight into the decision-making process. I believe the experience attained here will be of great help as I aspire to offer the best possible care for my patients."
