The humanity of Cuban people is just unmatched the world over. I cannot even begin to comprehend how they manage to keep this ability for selflessness that international solidarity requires when they have lived under international economic isolation imposed by the USA embargo for over half a century.
You have to wonder how Fidel Castro achieved to build a Cuban identity that is so “internationalist” in character? No other country thinks of its “national” identity in “internationalist” terms like the Cubans. They are ALWAYS on the right side of history. Always on the side of the oppressed. They have bled & died for it without any return!
The US embargo was meant to break precisely this Cuban spirit, force them to be inward looking, nationalist and at most, reject “socialism”. But for over 70 years, Cubans still don’t put themselves first. Cuban national identity remains “internationalist”.
Here they are, despite their million national & international problems with over 70 years of international economic isolation imposed by the USA, in their hundred thousands, marching in solidarity with Palestine. You have to admit; it is almost divine!
I love you Cuba 🇨🇺 . I love you forever!
