As the Ford government continues to weather the fallout from the Greenbelt affair, the Ontario NDP has unveiled new leaked documents about the expansion of urban boundaries across the province — which the party is calling “Act 2” of the scandal.

The Ford government's decision to overhaul the language curriculum without consulting #onted stakeholders shows how little they understand the public education system and value educators.
Making critical curricular decisions without input from educators who are in classrooms delivering the curriculum is irresponsible.
Also, with 157 recommendations in the Right to Read Report, why is the Ford government solely focused on one--a reading screening tool? Because they believe standardized tests are the answer.
Educators know what students really need is adequate investment in resources to support students in classrooms.

Horrifying: @fordnation's Ministry of Health is ending renumeration for physicians who treat extremely vulnerable people who are uninsured, which includes undocumented and many unhoused people. This is telling physicians to treat people for free, or else don't treat them at all.
The budget is cutting $47 million from Education. Ontario Budget 2023: Doug Ford Pulled a Sneaky Move to Quietly Cut Education #osstf (https://t.co/XtU1cH4Q0g)
This is absolutely unbelievable and disgusting move by @fordnation and Ministry of health. As someone who works in an inner city Emergency department, we see so many homeless patients, mental health, addictions who don't have enough documentation or ability to get or renew HC 1/
This side by side comparison of total expenses in Ontario perfectly illustrates how @fordnation has been targeting education.
In 2019 education was 18.2% of provincial expenses.
In 2023 we are down to 17%.
That's with the new childcare funding.
