Today, the @ICJ_org made a historic ruling: according to the court, the right to strike is LEGALLY PROTECTED under the @ilo's Convention 87 on Freedom of Assembly. This means that workers around the globe will legally have the right to strike and make their voices heard 🗣️

🚨 The ITUC strongly condemns the arrest, abduction, and torture of Lot Vilakati, Secretary General of SNAT, by security forces in Eswatini on 22 April 2026.

This alarming act occurred as public sector unions attempted to submit a petition over delayed salary payments. ✊📄

We call on the government of #Eswatini to respect workers’ rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining, in line with international commitments and the 2024 ILO CAS Conclusions. ⚖️
