Jeremy Clarkson reveals he has cancer, tearful presenter shares devastating diagnosis while filming for Clarksons Farm

Jeremy Clarkson, has revealed he has an aggressive form of cancer diagnosed since May 2026 during filming for the final episodes of season five of Clarksons Farm.

He told colleagues including Kaleb Cooper that he had a medical and biopsy and it is cancer and it is aggressive but it is really early so the treatment will be you know I need an operation and as a result my body will be out of action for a little while.

Jeremy said he started the year with coronary heart disease and ended it with cancer and added he has a blood test today there will be a blood test and then we will know not for another few weeks.

In hospital after some of the treatment has gone awry he said if this is all successful I will see you for season six and if it is not I will not, take care everyone.

The presenter posted a clip on Instagram on June 16 2026 warning viewers that the episodes would be difficult to watch and a sixth season of Clarksons Farm has been ordered by Prime Video.

Jeremy who is also filming a new series of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire said he was not thrilled at the prospect of the operation but remained hopeful about the treatment outcome.

GRヤリスの生産工程、レーシングカーみたいだもん
利益出ないよね

Toyota GR Yaris の生産工場動画、
「何か使えるヒントがあるかも」
と思って見てみました。

正直、「量産車で、ここまでやるの？」
という内容が多く、かなり面白かったです。

特に印象的だったのが、この辺り。
・足回り組付け
・アライメント管理
・ブレーキ管理
・選択嵌合

量産車というより、発想がかなりモータースポーツ寄りでした。

■エンジン・足回り組付けが普通の量産ラインと逆？

完全に理解できなかったのですが、かなり興味深い構造でした。

一般的な量産ラインでは、
・ボディを上から吊る
・下にエンジン・ミッション・足回りASSYを置く
・下側ユニットを持ち上げて締結する

という流れが多いと思います。

ただ、GRヤリスでは逆に、
「足回り側へボディを下ろして組付ける」
ような作業をしていました。

さらに面白いのが、ボディ側は、
・内装
・外装
・配線

などがかなり組み上がった状態。

普通の量産ラインだと、
・重い
・吊りづらい
・作業の邪魔

になるので、ここまで組んだ状態で合体させる事は少ないです。

■“停車状態に近い歪み”で組んでいる？

これは自分の推測ですが、
・車重をサスペンションへ掛けた状態
・荷重支点をタイヤ接地状態へ近づけた状態

で締結しているように見えました。

つまり、
「宙吊り状態で組む」のではなく、
「実際にタイヤで接地した時に近い状態で組む」
という考え方です。

宙吊り状態だと、
・荷重不足
・荷重方向違い
・ブッシュねじれ量違い

などが発生します。

■レース車両ではかなり重要

この考え方、競技車両ではかなり重要です。

例えば、
・ブッシュのねじれ
・サブフレーム位置
・初期フリクション
・アライメント変化

などは、「どの姿勢で締結したか」で普通に変わります。

実際、レース屋では、「1G状態で締める」という考え方があります。
僅かな差ですが、初心者でも違いが分かるレベルです。

GRヤリスは、その発想を量産へ落とし込んでいるように感じました。

■左右キャリパーの容積を揃えるって、本当に効果あるの？

これもかなり興味深かったです。
GRヤリスでは、左右キャリパーの容積を測定・管理しているそうです。

ただ、自分は今までそこまでやった事がありません。

最初は、
「ブレーキ液は非圧縮性流体だし、圧力は左右同時に伝わるはず。そんなに効くのかな？」
と思いました。

配管に極端な絞りでも無ければ、液圧自体は基本的に同じになるはずだからです。

実際に効いているのは“圧力差”ではなく“応答差”？

考えていくと問題は「圧力」ではなく、
「パッドがローターへ接触するまでに必要な液量差」
なのかもしれません。

例えば、
・ピストン戻り量
・シール変形
・キャリパー剛性
・ピストン摺動抵抗
などに左右差があると、

同じペダル入力でも、
・片側が先に当たる
・片側が遅れる

という差が出る可能性があります。

これなら、初期制動時の微妙なヨーや、直進性へ影響するのも理解できます。

■容積だけ測っても意味ある？

現場では、空気を使ってキャリパー容積を測定しているそうです。

ただ、ここで気になったのが、
「ピストン面一状態の静的容積だけ測って、本当に意味あるのか？」
という点。

むしろ重要なのは、
「一定量ピストンを動かすのに必要な実効容積」
なのでは？と思いました。

例えば、
・キャリパーとピストンが面一状態の容積
・ピストンを1mm突き出した時の容積
・両方を測定し、その差分を左右で揃える。

つまり、
「ピストンを一定量動かすのに必要な液量」
を管理した方が、実際の制動応答に近い気がします。

■レース屋はどう管理？
