I've found references to papers that didn't have a shred of supporting evidence for the claim it was supposed to support (or even refuted the claim).

@EricSchussler1 Ive noticed this the most with very prolific authors. Maybe it's because they have more papers out there, or maybe they don't put the same care into their papers as others. It'd be very interesting to gather stats on all this. (2/2)

@EricSchussler1 mistakes like this shouldn't happen. Researchers should be absolutely certain each reference they use is done properly. Additionally, publishing companies should use some of that crazy cash they get to ensure this standard is upheld. (1/2)
