@JHepatology@NDMOxford Thank you @JHepatology. Our manuscript showing unusual HCV subtypes resistant to NS5A inhibitors. Lets not take our eye of this epidemic!
Interesting data emerging on potential role in SARS-CoV-2 of old HCV friends, sofosbuvir and daclatasvir. Some in vitro data https://t.co/7TtQ8Pg8rb with clinical studies underway in Iran and South Africa. Still desperate need for oral antivirals that can work in early infection
Wake up this morning to a new European registry for patients with COVID-19 and liver disease.
Data entry is quick and important.

Last stop-hcv meeting with the whole team. Six years of friendships and science. Lots of good works ongoing. Beautiful celebration cakes by emma hudson.
Congratulations to Prof Will Irving for receiving the BASL Recognition of Service Award 2019 for his contributions made to Hepatitis C research! The award was presented to Will at the BASL Basic Science Retreat yesterday #hepatology@basl_events@NottmBRC@MedicineUoN@STOPHCV
@aelsharkawy75 @GregDore2 @KirbyInstitute@JMPawlotsky Absolutely, would be delighted to recruit to that. Coincidentally I'm just looking at our NS5a failure retreatments. n=14, but includes a 1a vosevi failure treated with sof/g/p/RBV (outcome pending). Is n=14 worth the EASL abstract submission fee 🤔
Graham Cooke at NIHR senior investigator annual meeting showcasing the translation of recent HCV discoveries into clinical impact through his NIHR professorship. Studies in stratified medicine and treatment duration. Hugely important work. Watch this space.......
Emma Thompson gives a super presentation about HCV subtypes in Africa. Multiple subtypes are likely resistant to sof/ledip. Careful treatment strategies required. #HCV#HCV2018
The support of funding agencies like @NIH has been essential to what we've learned to date, and #HCV is particularly challenging due to its epidemiology and silence during acute infection. Vaccines are essential for ending epidemics, and cohorts are essential for HCV vaccine dev.
Excellent poster by David Smith at #HCV2018. A sophisticated methodology manages to identify a sofosbuvir-resistant polymorphism in NS2! @EleanorBarnesOx@STOPHCV
