In which I talk about the political lowering of the barrier in state imaginaries concerning norm violations, international institutions, a new era of morality, and, not least, the revertebrations of the past. Thx @nielsbyrjalsen for hosting! @PolsciCph#UkraineWar
Delighted to announce a Call for Papers for a Special Issue: “Reimagining COIN after Afghanistan”. We'd love to hear from anyone interested in contributing to our SI application to @EJIntSec.
Who shaped global human rights? In my new paper @EuroJournIR on “Worldmaking from the Margins”, I focus on the importance of seemingly not very powerful actors in the constitution of global order.

The last 77yrs were anything BUT free of war- even for Westerners. #Srebrenica was a genocide we watched happen in the heart of Europe. #Syria#Libya#Yemen are wars fought with and dragged out w/ our very own arms. #Iraq and #Afghanistan were wars of our own making. 7/
We don't know how the conflict will end; it will be decided in Kyiv &Moscow and on the ground. some countries want Ukraine to win, other countries want peace. Also important: what type of justice will be sought post-conflict.
This is a great opportunity for early career scholars in the social sciences whose lives and work have been directly affected by the war in Ukraine. Please share widely.

4 possible ways this war ends in order of likelihood:

By attributing the war primarily to the growth of Athenian power and the fear it caused Sparta, Thucydides proved to be a stooge and conduit of Spartan talking points, denied its agency, and was probably on their payroll.
Many Global South regimes have, publicly or privately, and rightly, seen Putin’s invasion of Ukraine as a grave threat to world order & peace. But does this mean they will support a revival of US or West-led world order, or the Liberal Int Order? Highly unlikely.
🎉Our first issue of 2022 will be live on Monday 10th Jan!
This is a very special one. The issue uncovers the role of race and imperialism in international relations, guest edited by @JasmineKGani and @DrJennaMarshall.
It's also the start of something very exciting... (1/2)🧵
