We cannot consider #AI to be morally neutral. In reality, every technical tool embodies choices and priorities through what it measures, ignores, and optimizes, and how it classifies people and situations. Ethical discernment cannot be limited to asking whether we are using a system for good or bad purposes. It must also examine how that system is designed and what vision of the human person and society is embedded in the data and models that guide it. #MagnificaHumanitas

it’s funny how there were no accusations of my music sounding like ai slop until these datasets started getting used to generate slop

The children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe; and I am beginning to suspect that whoever is incapable of recognizing this may be incapable of morality.

Guillermo del Toro says art can't be done "with a f*cking app" and reveals "Pan's Labyrinth" was "the second worst filmmaking experience of my life. The first one being ‘Mimic’ with the Weinsteins."
"I feel and I think, like the girl Ofelia in ‘Pan’s Labyrinth,’ if we can just leave a mark, if we can put our faith against our faith and our strength against our strength, there is hope. And the last thing we can have is to give to one of the two forces: we can give to love, or we can give to fear. Never, never, never give to fear.”

The Man Who Wasn’t There, A Serious Man and Inside Llewyn Davis are 3 Coen Bros. movies that end with the introduction of an outside force so far beyond our comprehension, the struggles up to that point pale in comparison. Those are, an alien spacecraft, a tornado, and Bob Dylan.
