Huge thanks to @STrifinopoulos for jumping in late in the game to give todays’s tutorial on geometric machine learning. And to @Airsofter4692 for creating the materials! #IAIFISummerSchool
Sokratis, @carguelles314 , and @Cornkab are ready for you at our @CambSciFest booth, where you can ask our virtual Robert Oppenheimer (OpenAImer) questions about physics and more! #cambridgesciencefestival2023
This is indeed surprising! Considering the constraints from HST (see https://t.co/PFgHBt0eIF) one would expect that those anomalies would go away after spectroscopic analysis. However, the PBH interpretation via the seed effect is still viable: https://t.co/rPJ2JC5dXM
On August 5, @STrifinopoulos visited the @museumofscience for their "Meet a Scientist" program and presented on the interplay between physics and machine learning! Sokratis had a full audience & answered many questions after. Stay tuned for more IAIFI presentations at the Museum!
@FinitePhysicist Imagine that you sit at the false vaccum and conduct an experiment that can produce on-shell φ with energy larger than the field distance between the two minima, what happens then?
They did, however, show that spooky inaction at a distance is possible. More than one generation of physicists whistled blithely past quantum foundations!
Seems like quite a few interesting ~3-sigma excesses at Moriond today:
- ATLAS Heavy stable charge particle search
- CMS VLQ search, model related to flavor anomalies
- CMS TauTau resonance at ~100 GeV (cf the existing diphoton excess at 95 GeV)
This is a reminder to my American colleagues that if you aren't working on B physics just because "that's not what I joined ATLAS/CMS to do" you're talking yourself out of contributing to what may be the most significant HEP discovery in decades
Welcome from all of us to #Nobel laureate @giorgioparisi. It is a great honour to have him here. Follow his Colloquium now online https://t.co/MpNNdBxyan
