it comes off as incredibly lazy to have the opportunity to expand upon a characters flaws in a remake, but instead decide to remove those flaws entirely
Wada on new explorable areas in Persona 4 Revival:
"We haven't really added new locations, but like Junes, there are a couple places where we've made changes to the camera work and everything. The main one being Okina City. It is now a full 3D area."
Hot take, but Yosuke isn't homophobic because it's internalized. He's homophobic because Atlus thinks it's funny. The same way they thought the transphobic joke in P3 was funny. And the same way they thought that one homophobic bit in vanilla P5 was funny
joker just deleting the mysterious metaverse app every time he sees it in the beginning vs makoto yuki just ignoring everyone turning into coffins in the beginning
Today will be an odd day since you’re going to see a lot of Persona fans complaining that the game has LESS homophobia in it.
If only there was a missing piece of context that could’ve been added in the remake to make Yosuke’s behaviour a little more nuanced 🤔
theres been a new genre of people in my replies who only played reload but got converted into thinking the remake is bad so they desperately suck up to me (i dont even dislike reload) by making jokes about reload and praising FES
most fascinating larp ive ever seen
New Persona players playing P4R and failing Naoto's romance flag cause they said they don't mind what gender she is instead saying they prefer as a girl.
I lowwwkeeyyy don't care if they remove Yosuke's homophobia, part of me is kinda glad people will stop talking about that like it's his only personality trait... Lowkeeyyy I wish people touched on him grieving Saki more
My personal interpretation of what this means is:
- Persona 4 Revival will not change the story
- P4R will not cut any scenes or events
- Yosuke might have one or two text-only changes
- Stuff like Naoto's SL and Romance flag are not changing
- Yosuke Romance is off the table
