@TotalDeather @Matthew31041393 @Lavader_ But why are you then defending the war that was started by said governments? Unless you mean it happened afterwards, which just makes the war worse since it allowed/helped said traitors get into power?
@TotalDeather @Matthew31041393 @Lavader_ What did the war achieve besides killing a generation of young europeans and destroying Europe’s potential to continue dominating the world?
@Aliathewhite@Senikistan@grok Our culture is no more pagan or based on the old faiths than most European countries, with the exception of Iceland and the Sami.
You place alot of worth on the aesthetic value of faith, so you should know that most of our traditional clothing was made after we converted.
@Ambavalent2964@agraybee@nobodyknows2322 The welfare state is older than the oil and gas sectors here. Yes, its certainly very helpful to keep it running during turbulent times, but its not what makes it work.
@whackader@Zengeku@BladeoftheS Norway’s welfare state is older than history of oil and gas production here. It certainly is a big and comfy cushion incase anything goes wrong, but its not the reason why the system works.
@paul_d_stevens@MarcusTindall@BladeoftheS The countries here that have been the most successful in terms of growth in the last years are the ones that have focused more on streamlining red tape and regulations.
They do this while giving insentives for companies, while remaining hands off, not forcing them
@islander_p74358@BladeoftheS None of the countries mentioned have any offical form of UBI, unless you count unemployment benefits, which is standard in the first world?
Some local governments have and do experiment with it to limited extents, but none on a national scale.
@BladeoftheS This is a oversimplification and has not been the government philosophy since the mid 90’s at the latest.
Most of the sectors you mentioned besides water, energy and liquor(not alcohol in general) sales, are no more government run than other functioning European states
@ThatFencingDude @MountainGenera He’s not a descendant of Haakon. He is from the crown prince’s wife’s former marriage. He is not a prince either, just an annoying pr nightmare to the family that the public already hates. Its a hit to the monarchy’s reputation, but it wont bring it down
