I’ve had some people very close to me die and what struck me the most is that life immediately moves on.

It depressed me for a bit but then I saw it differently. That’s the magic. Your life has a time clock but life continues. Make the most of it because nothing else matters. It also helped me worry way less how people see me. Because again, life goes on.

Unlike 2009 where is a liquidity crisis today’s environment favors the operator as opposed to private equity.

Don’t get me wrong you still need access to capital but it’s not going to be Blackstone that comes in to fix operational issues

This isn’t necessarily a balance sheet issue

The deals that don’t work more often than not need someone to roll their sleeves up and fix the problem
