The UK’s former Defence Secretary @grantshapps has denied providing arms exports to Israel, despite the fact that the UK issued more than 100 arms export licences to Israel between 7 Oct and 31 May, according to government figures. The UK supplies 15% of parts for F-35 fighter jets used in Gaza.

Mr Shapps has also denied receiving legal advice that Israel breached humanitarian laws in Gaza. This comes against the backdrop of a leaked recording by Alicia Kearns – the then Conservative Chair of a select committee on foreign affairs.

In the audio clip, Ms Kearns is heard saying that the British government did, indeed, receive advice from its own lawyers stating that Israel has breached international rules.

In reality, when we see the youth from both sides taking to the streets, it is a result of assimilation.

Both sides are acting like the working class from the North.

When our grandparents came to this country, they didn't behave this way and kept to themselves. They didn’t integrate and endured any abuse or racism they received.

Now, the youth have integrated, have been brought up in the UK and consider themselves British. It means they believe they have the same rights as the rest of the people of the UK.
