Awwwww, I just received a "Cease & Desist" from a supposed organization that is working for decrim on sw rights. Lol There ya have it! A non-sw org silencing an actual sex worker-led org.
Hello, I'm still embarrassed doing this but I have two weeks to make another 2k so I'm more terrified than anything. Please share if you can't help, and thank you to everyone who has already.

Why haven't Oregon sw's made a public statement against the legalization angle of the Sex Worker Project & DSW bill? Why are non-sw groups infilitrating & asking for legalization? WTF?
@DesireeAlliance Personally everyone I engaged with around this process either dismissed me or blocked me from participating or claimed to want participation but then ghosted. I know others either gave up or were kept out.

look, i’m not fully informed about everything happening in Oregon’s decrim campaign (there’s…a lot) but complete lack of acknowledgment you caused harm and mass inviting people online to local meetings so they can help make it better is a major red flag
most community members i’m close with are already well aware this person is extremely dangerous to interact with let alone work or organize with—something to keep in mind as more context surrounding Oregon’s decrim campaign is revealed.
NO ONE SCREWS MORE PROSTITUTES THAN THE GOVERNMENT!
In 1992 we ran a poster campaign with an advertising agency calling for the abolition of the prostitution laws. #ECParchive
This point right here. Sex work advocates from across the U.S. have observed the growth of OR’s campaign, and not a single one of us is fooled by the lack of leadership and severe exclusion of Oregon sex workers who are most impacted by criminalization and legalization efforts:
Why the “decriminalization” campaign backed by several sex workers and “sex work expert” researchers should be thoroughly, critically interrogated and revealed for what it is: *not* a campaign for full decriminalization but rather a collective move to create a new legal category
The mental gymnastics it must take to know that:
a) police perpetrate violence against women
b) police use their status as police to do this
and yet still believe that
c) criminalising sex work, and thus involving more police, will keep sex workers safe
is staggering.
Important that @CUPEOntario leaders are beginning to acknowledge sex work & our movement for sex worker justice! The labour movement plays a key role in backing our fight for decrim, challenging state violence & showing up for queer/trans, Black/Indigenous sex workers of colour!
