A brilliant way to show you care about your people. 💜🌠
This month we are reading 'Mastering Civility' by Christine Porath @PorathC
Civility can save lives & rudeness can be deadly, come along to find out more.
(You can just tune in & listen if you don't have time to read it first!)

This month we are reading 'Radical Candour' by @kimballscott who asks why organisations often give employees with 'ambition' a higher appraisal score than those who are great at what they do & want to keep doing it.
Wanting promotion is only one of many ways to grow at work 💜👍
This was our book of the month in September 2020.
Rebel Ideas by @matthewsyed is an essential read if you want to know the secrets behind England's success.

He's achieved that in six games
@matthewsyed has written about some of his revolutionary methods & how he's used the power of diverse thinking to achieve this

Black Box Thinking is our book this month. Totally blow away by the concept of cognitive dissonance, can't stop thinking what if I've done that, how would I know! Join us this Friday to learn more. @SWBH_Leadership@SWBHLibrary@richardburnell@NHSBeeky
This month's leadership book club read is 'The Making of a Manager' by @joulee Julie Zhuo. It's a great read, especially for managers who have to lead a small team for the first time. Get reading and come along. Last Friday of each month, 2.30-3.30 online!
This month we are reading 'How to Deal with Difficult People' by @gillhasson in our book club. If you want to join us on the 26th Feb search 'Book Club' on the Trust Intranet to find out more!
In Book Club today we discussed 'Dare to Lead' by @BreneBrown a great point was about assumptions we make about colleague's behaviors. Instead of saying "THEY ARE DOING THIS BECAUSE" we should say "THE STORY I'M TELLING MYSELF RIGHT NOW IS..." to stop us from assuming the worst
@AmyCrumpton12 That's wonderful advice Amy. There's a lovely quote from our Leadership Book of the month on this topic.
"During a conversation, how often do we listen with the same passion as we intend to speak?" Brene Brown, 'Dare to Lead.'
Tomorrow is our first Leadership Book Club discussing the brilliant 'Rebel Ideas' by @matthewsyed to see how it can help shape our organisation. We've had so many people ask to come that we now have FIVE separate groups! Can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts!
Here's a challenge, what's the SINGLE best leadership book you have ever read? Suggest just ONE title to make your recommendation really valuable to others.
We now have an @SWBHnhs Leadership Book Club!
Our next meeting is online on 25th September 2.30-3.30pm where we will discuss the brilliant 'Rebel Ideas' by @matthewsyed
This book is available in print, audio & electronically
