No it’s not. @elonmusk getting more and more desperate as reality bites … Trump is losing and he knows it which is why the X shills and charlatans have been told to fake the vibe so “stop the steal” (sic) gets activated even earlier than the last time he lost
📈In her #Budget24 speech Rachel Reeves referred to growth 32 times.
🌎She didn't refer to climate once.
🌳Or nature - not a single mention.
0⃣This gives a whole new meaning to Labour's understanding of Net Zero.
Building ever-more flood defences cannot be our only response to the growing risk of flooding. We should be using nature to hold back water during heavy rainfall, installing ‘leaky’ dams which release water slowly, digging ponds to store floodwater & protecting floodplains
My private member’s bill would require water companies to deliver a set amount of water improvement works through nature-based solutions, enforced by @ofwat

Equalise capital gains tax with employment income
The money is there.
The minimum we expect from the Labour Chancellor is to equalise capital gains tax. So that capital gains are taxed at the same rate as employment income.
This one move alone would raise £14 billion for the government.
Which could be spent on say, reinstating the winter fuel payment for 10 million pensioners. Or lifting children out of poverty by abolishing the child benefit cap.
And we have £9 billion to spend on our cash strapped NHS and councils.
It’s those kind of [Labour and Conservative] political choices that put people into poverty. Fairer, greener taxes would tax wealth rather than poverty.
NHS dentistry is in crisis, particularly in eastern England
The PM says he recognises that but when I ask him to set a date for negotiations to reform the broken NHS dental contracts will begin, he won't commit to doing so by end of this year
We need urgent action, not vague promises #PMQs
Today I asked Govt about its "independent" anti-extremism adviser Lord Walney - a man who profits financially from advising fossil fuel & arms companies whilst urging that peaceful climate and anti-war protestors be treated as extremists.
Looking forward to receiving my reply 🧐
💯 "It is of deep concern to me that the number of people voting has diminished over the past few years"
@Louise_Jones_MP says it is an MP's duty is to leave our democracy in a better state than they found it & to show "a vote for democracy matters"

It’s time for Labour to remember its roots and reinstate the right to peaceful protest.

🗣️ "We need to have a much clearer system for regulating lobbying."
@AdrianRamsay on the need to ensure the lobbying industry isn't having a disproportionate influence on our politics.
Seems fitting that UK, the first country to introduce coal fired power, is also first G7 country to move beyond it. With thanks to the workers who powered our past, this is now a vital moment in a green transition which must be fair & support communities https://t.co/dcHfqO0MU1
'We are winning,' Netanyahu tells the UN.
No one is winning while Israel turns down ceasefire proposals, more die in Gaza and Lebanon, and hostages are not released.
The UK government must revoke ALL arms licences and use all diplomatic power to bring an end to the killing.
No country can be allowed to break international law with impunity. The attacks in Lebanon - widely presumed to be by Mossad - are killing civilians. The UK government should condemn them unequivocally, and robustly challenge Gallant's trumpeted 'new phase' in a deadly war.
We won’t be a democracy in this country until every voice matters, and matters equally.
@TheGreenParty is committed to transforming our political system from root to branch to embed this principal. #InternationalDayOfDemocracy 🧵
Letter from CEO Sir Nick Harvey to government makes clear @euromove is proudly campaigning for UK to return to EU but lists six urgent steps for the shorter term. Quoted here in @Independent https://t.co/P4MTd6t08N
“This country needs more than the myopic parsimony of pen-pushers & bean-counters: if it doesn’t push beyond it, the future won’t be about our national condition deteriorating before it improves, but something much, much worse”. @johnharris1969👇 https://t.co/pswsrsriPe
