Happy International Day of Older Persons!

🔵IPA recognizes the powerful role older adults play as drivers of progress and change. This year’s theme, “Older Persons Driving Local and Global Action: Our Aspirations, Our Well-Being and Our Rights” aligns with our mission to empower this vital population.
🔵We celebrate their contributions to a more equitable and resilient world, from health advocacy to human rights.
🔵The day was established by the United Nations to acknowledge the rapid growth of the global aging population and to promote supportive, healthy environments for all. This aligns with our mission to ensure that older adults have the tools and support to maintain their functional capacity and participate fully in society.

This day is a powerful reminder that with proper care and support, older persons can remain active, independent, and vital contributors to their communities.

There are some positives in the new @DHSCgovuk survey on the #socialcare workforce, conducted in autumn 2024. While 71% of providers found recruitment a challenge, most thought it hadn’t deteriorated and 1 in 5 thought it had improved, as had retention and morale.
