Students know when it's busy work. If you don't have a good plan, it would be more constructive to let your students take a nap. (Most kids are behind on sleep.)
Always try to have a good plan.
Q4) it’s important to communicate to teachers, parents, students the “why”. Why are we making this change, what is the benefit. Keeping that open dialogue among stakeholders is very important and can be done thru presentations, Q&A time, meetings, etc #LeadLAP
Q3) our admin has teachers lead the staff meetings sometimes giving them the opportunity to share what they are doing in their classrooms. This is a great way to empower teachers! #LeadLAP
@jillrt I am not admin, so I’m not speaking from experience, but one of my admin friends actually covers classes for teachers who want to go observe other classrooms. This gives teachers an opportunity to learn from each other during the school day #LeadLAP
@KatieNovakUDL Together with admin, we created a “foundation” of required cores, and left the majority of the credits to the choice of the student based on their chosen career path. Our requirements we too restricting for students to be able to take meaningful courses! #LeadLAP

A1) one of the major barriers this year (after going 1:1) are teachers having tech issues in their classroom. The technology is great...when it works! #LeadLAP
@teachmbw It's unusual circumstances like that where bias can be most revealed. Well! Of COURSE we should accommodate now, given the seriousness of his injury. But how was he not being accommodated before? Was he really a "bad" student? @SWebbCVSD#nt2t
@JeremyDBond I had one teacher step up and advocate for me. He made sure I graduated. He made sure they didn't take away the activities that gave me hope. Because of him I was able to go to college and now teach myself. Our advocacy matters. #nt2t
A6) YES! Perfect attendance is a very big accomplishment and it shows: that student exemplifies what it means to be reliable, a top trait all employers are looking for #nt2t
