How do plants heal themselves? In a paper featured on the #CoverPage of the journal @PNASNews, Prof. Kalika Prasad's group from the #BiologyDept at #IISERPune and co-authors studied the role of autophagy, which is a cellular “clean-up” system, in regulating cellular stress and thereby regeneration in plants following an injury.

Don’t miss this opportunity to receive dedicated mentoring while doing interdisciplinary research.
This story is ~4 years of mad experiments+tireless efforts by @kalikapg...all my gratitude for your advice, encouragement, and mentorship🙏🏼. Amazing help from @Aabha_Humnabad and Komal, collaborators, and great reviewer feedback sealed this story. Thank you! @IISERPune@DBTIndia
Looking forward to the same in the upcoming week. Its great to have a Mechanobiology meeting going that will bring labs together interested in the same regularly. #MechBioIndia2025@NCBS
Today they steal your votes. How long until they steal your voice?
Or have they stolen it already?
If not, let it be heard.

How does an organ rebuild its shape after injury? It's not just about making new cells, but aligning them in the right direction — like bricks shaping a structure.

I don’t know who is the faculty at IISER but at IITB, I am the faculty advisor of our LGBTQ+ student body.
You needed a name, Chalo am giving you a name.
Game on!
There's finally something good happening at @IISERPune which is quite evident from the disturbed RW posts. As an alumnus, I feel quite glad to have contributed to the program.
This video is from a march organised by our students within the IISER Pune campus in support of the LGBTQ community. Please note that there were no religious or anti-national slogans at the march. The term azadi was used in the context of freedom from prejudice against the LGBTQ community. This is an annual peaceful event by our student community to create awareness and promote inclusivity.
Do check out a new preprint from the lab @IISERPune on the bioinformatics analysis and biochemical characterization of ABHD12. Nice work spearheaded by @ArnabChaks & @ArchitDevarajan, with help from @Kundan703 & Rohith.

New paper alert! The Dagdas group (@PlantoPhagy) discovered that the molecule ATG8 protects the vacuole when the cell wall is damaged. This mechanism ensures that the highly pressured vacuole, essential to the plant cell, remains intact. Read more: https://t.co/RWG60blXbs
