We never intended to Liberate Mekelle, Says Ethiopian Prime Minister
In an address to the press, explaining why #Ethiopian forces had withdrawn from #Mekelle earlier this week, PM Abiy made startling & new claims about the #WarOnTigray.

Holocaust was a product of Hitler’s inferiority complex.

#TigrayGenocide is the product of @AbiyAhmedAli’s inferiority complex.

The world must intervene to stop Abiy Ahmed Ali. Otherwise, millions in Tigray will be dying from weaponized famine used as a collective punishment.

An opponent who has routed your forces is not required to honor a unilaterally declared ceasefire that is intended only to buy time for further escalation. If ceasefire was for benefit of Tigray, govt would not be continuing to shut down communications and block aid delivery.

Those we’re speaking to in #Tigray say since yesterday there’s been an Ethiopian Gov comms blackout; phones across the region - other than Mekelle - are down. No internet. Roads into Tigray blocked, air travel halted. People are scared as to what could be coming next.

An airstrike hit a busy market in #Tigray village of #Togoga on Tuesday, according to health workers, soldiers blocked medical teams from traveling to the scene, dozens of people were killed ⁦@SecBlinken⁩ ⁦@SamanthaJPower⁩ ⁦@USAmbUN⁩ https://t.co/crs4KgcaRj

I am particularly close to the people of Tigray, Ethiopia, affected by a serious humanitarian crisis. Let us #PrayTogether so that the violence ceases, food and health assistance is guaranteed to all, and social harmony is restored as soon as possible.

[Nima Elbagir @nimaelbagir]

UN Rep on Sexual Violence in Conflict @USGSRSGPatten said she wasn’t surprised by extent of sexual violence in #Tigray and it’s still stuck in my head - “We know wars are fought on the battlefield of women’s bodies”. How awful that violence against women is never a surprise.

[Alex S @S_Alex36]

@shen_shiwei @DemekeHasen @mfaethiopia Is this the way China does not care for African lives? Is this the way China responds to the concrete UN reports on the human made famine created by the dictators in Ethiopia and Eritrea on the people of Tigray? #China #TigrayGenocide #Ethiopia @ChinaEmbAddis @ChinaUNSC

[Alex S @S_Alex36]

@shen_shiwei @DemekeHasen @mfaethiopia I never though China could go this far to support Tigray people's extermination. Is China such a shit that supports genocide up on us? #TigrayGenocide

[Alex S @S_Alex36]

@MoazzamTMalik @DanielBekele @EthioHRC @UKinEthiopia @AMcPhailUK As a Tigrian, I don't trust @DanielBekele as his reputation in the past is so devastating. For most, he was a voice to ethnic Amhara, his ethnicity.

@iyoba4u She is so great that has uncovered the atrocities made by the invading forces in #TigrayGenocide

[Tseday @Tseday]

My disappointment at the US-EU high level roundtable is Pramila Patten (@endrapeinwar) who gave endorsement of the mockery by the Ethiopian government vis-à-vis weaponized rape in Tigray. No the Ethiopian government has not acknowledged the massive scale of the weaponized rape.

[Nima Elbagir @nimaelbagir]

In his closing remarks at US-EU Roundtable US Special Envoy for Horn of Africa Amb Jeffrey Feltman - Starvation is being used as a weapon of war [in #Tigray]...the G7 recognises it and it’s time the Security Council itself recognises it”

[Alex S @S_Alex36]

@JosepBorrellF @G7 @EU_Commission @USAID Thank you, so much! The world, specially EU and US have to stop this #TigrayGenocide
