The video you are currently looking looking at is a typical example of faith and common sense (reasoning) working together.
The Catholic Church has always taught us that faith should not overshadow our common sense (reasoning), and reason should not overshadow faith.
The Pope has to undergo surgery to remove a lump in his throat. You see? He didn't just pray and pray and sit down doing nothing about it.
Of course, God can miraculously heal someone. But God also works through the ordinary means available to us, including doctors, medicine, and medical procedures.
When you pray for healing, you also go to the hospital. You get yourself checked, you take your medication.
When you pray for a job, you go out and apply for jobs. When you pray for a good harvest, you plant the seeds and ask God to bless your efforts.
You don't just pray and go to sleep, expecting everything to happen magically.
Remember, faith without works is dead (James 2:26).
Faith is not an excuse for laziness or the abandonment of reason. When you pray for something, you must also be willing to do your part.
Pray as if everything depends on God because it does, and act with the understanding that you have a responsibility to fulfil.
That is faith and reason working together.
