Last time I checked Michael Jordan set a playoff scoring record against a Celtics dynasty that has yet to be broken to this day. All while playing with the rehab needing Bulls and oh yeah, no Pippen. They don't wanna talk about that though.
1990s NBA wasn't faster, but it was bigger, stronger, and more athletic overall...dominated by elite scoring true centers and power forwards who could run up and down and score in transition as well as control the paint.
Today's NBA is dominated by undersized shooting guards masquerading as "point guards". Shooting volume 3s doesn't require as much athleticism with no hand checking, good ball movement, and decent screens.
You don't need elite athleticism at all to dominate in today's NBA. Jokic and Doncic aren't extremely athletic at all. Neither is Curry, although he has improved his strength level since his rookie season.
And Jokic's only real competition at center is Embiid.
Neither one is as athletic as bigs like prime Olajuwon, Barkley, Ewing, Malone, Daugherty, Robinson, Kemp, Shaq, Mourning, Webber, or Kevin Garnett in the 1980s and 1990s. Only Giannis today can compare athletically...and he's more limited offensively than all those bigs other than Shaq.
I apologize my brother I’m just seeing this. Love all 3 iconic shows. But Ghost cried harder when his girl died than he did when his daughter died. That’s not hip hop. Snowfall, Wire, Power. 💰💰💰
