It supports the idea that the method is more important than the right answer and allows children to self assess and try again to get the right answer. My y6 class love it and they don't reinforce misconceptions. #primaryrocks

@PrimaryRocks1 @ASEChat @gazneedle It's not fancy but whenever we look at melting I freeze coloured water inside gloves to make frozen hands. Sometimes I claim they're the frozen hands of storybook characters (works well with Narnia books). Kids always find it really exciting 🤷🏼‍♀️ #PrimaryRocks

@PrimaryRocks1 #PrimaryRocks I encourage children to identify which spellings they've guessed and we talk through relevant spelling rules together and root words. With support, I've found they can usually reason their way to the correct spelling. (Y3, 4 and 6)

@missdcox Especially at the very beginning! I think the more you know the easier it is to spot things that are working. As a student whose placement wasn't going very well, I was sent to watch experienced teachers but without any relevant conversations it didn't help me at all.

@PrimaryRocks1 Shakespeare Week! I was so dubious starting out but students from FS1 to Y6 loved it and were so eager to perform and attempt writing in character using Shakespearian language! #primaryrocks

@PrimaryRocks1 For my Y3 class, nothing motivates them like the promise that if they do themselves proud it'll be put on a display. The idea that people will see it turns them into little perfectionists. 😍 #PrimaryRocks

@PrimaryRocks1 #primaryrocks I don't call it a "license" but I give out pens to recognise effort in presentation. It's pushed some chn who were not really trying with their presentation to step up their game and everyone is judged on their own merits so SEN aren't excluded.
