This is a non-answer. Mamdani cannot arrest Netanyahu (The United States is not a party to the Rome Statute, foreign affairs are a federal matter, etc.) Moreover, as a sitting prime minister, Netanyahu has a strong claim to immunity ratione personae before U.S. courts.

If Mamdani wants to take tangible action within the bounds of his office, he could easily urge Attorney General and other relevant authorities to go after New York-registered tax-exempt organizations that funnel tens of millions of US dollars into Israeli settler expansion and violence every year (not niche, irrelevant orgs like Betar that are discredited by even the ADL, but consequential organizations like the Smotrich-founded Regavim, or the Israel Land Fund). Why won't he do that?

The Palestinian author and visionary Ghassan Kanafani was murdered by Israeli agents on this day in 1972, together with his niece, who was a child.

Kanafani's family was forced out of their home during the Nakba in 1948. His writings—Men in the Sun, and Return to Haifa—spoke to the ongoing trauma of Israeli occupation and ethnic cleansing.

Kanafani called for the right of return for all Palestinian refugees. This demand is more relevant now than ever.

Microsoft whistleblower on the firms deep integration into the Zionist genocide:

After nearly two years as a Critical Environment Technician at a Microsoft Italy data center, I choose to resign. This is because, right now, Microsoft is massively expanding its European data centers (aka mass surveillance centers) to use Palestine as a laboratory for its experimental digital weaponry. For the past 994 days, Microsoft has powered the genocide of our people in Palestine, and the company’s European data centers are fundamental to how Microsoft abets crimes against humanity.

On August 6, 2025, reports exposed how Microsoft hosted 11,500 terabytes of intercepted Palestinian phone call data in the Microsoft Netherlands data center, with additional data stored in the Irish data center, amounting to 200 million hours of audio. This trove of mass surveillance data has been described as “one of the world’s largest and most intrusive collections of surveillance data over a single population group.”
This data is used by the Israeli military to identify targets for airstrikes, arrests, and blackmail from the entire Palestinian population. It is also used as training data to build AI-targeting programs. These programs invent arbitrary justifications to murder non-combatants, intentionally adding civilian workers to the Israeli military’s generated “target bank“; the programs also facilitate massacres of entire families at once.

NEW: The Board of Directors at the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) will formally change its definition of who qualifies as a journalist, to broadly exclude slain Palestinian and Lebanese journalists who worked for government-funded media outlets. Israeli, American, and Ukrainian journalists who work for state-funded outlets or are embedded with the military will remain recognized as journalists, of course.

The move was catalyzed to appease the right-wing Zionist rag The Free Beacon, which has repeatedly accused Palestinian and Lebanese journalists of being undercover militants or used their political opinions or affiliations as justification for their killing by the IOF.

This is a racist scandal of massive proportions for everyone involved, and it makes a mockery of the purported mission of the organization. It is absolutely abhorrent that the organization’s resources are wasted on this cowardly witch-hunt, at a moment in history that is the deadliest for journalists, especially in Palestine and Lebanon.
