We will never surrender to your lifestyle and your definition of it. Ultimately, we're all going to expire and meet God, then eventually figure out who was right and who was spiteful.
Let the young man, driven by desperation, go into the wilderness and hunt. If he brings down the elephant, his poverty comes to an end. If the elephant brings him down, his poverty still comes to an end.
Nigeriaโs complex insecurity terrain is more about Hybrid Organized Criminal Syndicates fed by global criminal expansionist agenda, made more complex by ungoverned spaces, weaponized poverty, ethnic tensions, weak oversight, traditional grievances and (some) ethno-religious violence.
The rise of well armed and rapidly standardizing ethno-tribal/political Militia, portends the most clear and present danger in Nigeria today, with the possibilities of hybridization of the groups based on symbiotic arrangements.
A Hybrid Threat must be confronted with Hybrid Solutions.
Even if Annual General Conference is free for young lawyers, how many young lawyers can actually afford to attend it?
Flight, accommodation and other associated logistics cannot be afforded by an average lawyers earning below minimum wage.
We must stand firm to demand for a better living condition for young lawyers in Nigeria.
State Police: I Do Not Foresee Duplication of Responsibilities โ Gen. Irabor
Sometimes we fail to realise that we currently have police stations across the country, down to the local government and village levels. When people say policing needs to get to the grassroots and that state police will address this, I think they are missing the point. State police, vis-ร -vis the Federal Police, is about command and control. We must address the ills that have affected the Federal Police and ensure they do not affect the state police.
Gen. Lucky Irabor (Rtd.), Former Chief of Defence Staff, Nigeria
If you are broke as a man, itโs not only women that will treat you bad with utter disrespect, even your friends, family and enemies will treat you one kind. Itโs only you and God.
If you believe one random man single-handedly opened a โfakeโ office, eluded officials, misled the Accountant General and the CBN, got budgetary allocations and even defended it at NASS, operated from the โofficeโ still undetected, please go back to your school and collect refund.
Life is a serious enterprise; it succeeds only to the extent of the effort and sacrifice invested in it. It fails when no such investments are made on it, when it is reduced to fun and play. It is the degree of effort that ultimately determines success or failure!
To every young Nigerian graduate, train your eyes to see opportunities whilst others see problems. Don't look down on a business because it is very small or too local.
The people from the south often talk about development as if they are living in some Eldorado that is entirely different from everywhere else. The SW people in particular are the loudest. I have been to many Nigerian states and I can confirm that Ekiti is the poorest. Lagos is a trillion Naira economy that doesn't even have good drainage systems. Nobody should bamboozle anybody in Nigeria. The rot and dysfunction is everywhere. The quality of life is abysmal for everyone except politicians and very high income earners.
State police is a KAROTA/NURTW with a gun. They will be badly trained and poorly funded. The governor is the IG, AIG, DIG, and CP. Whoever forms the structure, owns it!
In my country, if you insult the President, the DSS and other law enforcement agencies will track you down, arrest you, and charge you to court before they track down, arrest, and charge a terrorist/bandit who releases videos of himself killing and slaughtering innocent citizens like fowls.
Hopefully, Nigeria will be great again. I really hope.
