Successfully concluded the 7th Intergovernmental Meeting between Health Ministers of the FGS and FMS in Hirshabelle.

We conducted a deep dive into the achievements and challenges of the past two quarters to sharpen our strategy for the year ahead.

A joint technical committee has been established to lead the review of Damal Caafimaad Phase 1 and pave the way for Phase 2 implementation.
Together, we are building a more resilient health system.

In Nairobi: Met with WB, FCDO, UNICEF, WHO, GFF & partners on sustainable health financing for Somalia. With projects ending in 2026, we agreed protecting essential health & nutrition, especially for mothers and children. Health financing is a responsibility, not an option.

At MoH–SWSS HQ, I welcomed a @unicefsomalia team led by Dr. Obaid Altayeb.

With my DG, EPI, & HMIS team, we discussed strengthening routine immunization, reaching zero-dose communities, transitioning cold chain to MoH, building EPI capacity, and improving data-driven decisions.
