پھر وہ پھُولا نہیں سماتا اور اکڑنے لگتا ہے - اس عیب سے پاک اگر کوئی ہیں تو بس وہ لوگ جو صبر کرنے والے اور نیکوکار ہیں اور وہی ہیں جن کے لیے درگزر بھی ہے اور بڑا اجر بھی - هود ١٠-١١

🧵On May 4th, 1799, 227 years ago, Tipu Sultan, the head of the Sultanate of Mysore was martyred in the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War by the British. 

As just a teenager, Tipu Sultan fought the British alongside his father. When he succeeded his father and became Sultan of the Kingdom of Mysore, he presented the British with their last formidable resistance. A true exemplar of Islamic courage, they called him the Tiger of Mysore.

It is said that once when he was advised to retreat from battle, Tipu Sultan replied, “It is far better to live like a lion for a day than to live like a jackal for a hundred years.” He stayed true to his words, dying in defense of his kingdom and its people.

May Allah grant us such courage, and allow us to defend our Ummah with honor and justice.
