It's Pakistani culture: they let their women wander freely in bazaars and outdoors, but when it comes to prayer in the masjid, oh it's free mixing, a shitty cultural thing. My mom was so mad when she went to a masjid in Dubai for prayer and found women could pray with the congregation. She was like, why they never let us pray in the masjid in Pakistan; her whole life she never had a chance to pray in a masjid.
