BREAKING: RETALIATION! A DOGE whistleblower had his brake lines cut the day after Elon Musk called him a criminal on X — and he's now suing for defamation.

Dan Berulis did everything right. He saw something alarming, filed a proper Congressional whistleblower complaint, and went public through legitimate channels. Then someone taped threatening photos of him walking his dog to his front door. Then Elon Musk called him a criminal to 200 million followers. Then his brake lines were cut.

Berulis was an IT staffer at the National Labor Relations Board who filed a whistleblower complaint in April 2025, alleging that DOGE had accessed the agency's systems and appeared to be exfiltrating data — and that minutes after DOGE accessed those systems, login attempts appeared from a Russian IP address.

Five days after he went public, on Easter Sunday, Musk reshared a post from a right-wing influencer claiming Berulis' complaint was false, writing: "Filing a deliberately false whistleblower claim is a serious crime." Musk's followers responded by calling for Berulis's prosecution, arrest, and harm. One wrote, "Snitches get stitches."

The next morning, Berulis got in his car. His brakes didn't work. He ran off the road into a stop sign. A mechanic later found his brake lines had been cut — and that a safety sensor had also been removed and its wires carefully spliced to prevent the car from detecting the missing component or alerting the driver.

Fingerprints were found on the car. The police case is now "inactive."

Berulis never went back to his home. He moved out, stayed in hotels, and has lived carefully ever since.

He is now suing Musk for defamation — knowing, in his own words, that it's "kicking the hornet's nest" against someone with nearly unlimited resources. If he wins, he says he'll use the proceeds to defend other whistleblowers.

"I'm not expecting to win this. The asymmetry here is real," Berulis said. "But I am trying to get something positive out of it."

One more detail that should terrify everyone: Berulis had moved to his address just three months before the threatening note appeared. He hadn't updated his bank, his phone, his car registration, or his driver's license. The only entities that had his new address were his utilities and the Office of Personnel Management — one of the first agencies DOGE accessed.

The atrocities that DOGE inflicted upon the US government may have faded from the immediate consciousness of most people, but the fallout continues. Let’s hope that this whistleblower sees the justice he deserves.

BREAKING: Donald Trump just launched yet ANOTHER vile attack on Pope Leo. And it’s somehow even pettier and more absurd than last time little Donny went after the holy man...

Trump is back on Truth Social lashing out at Pope Leo XIV — the spiritual leader of 1.4 billion Catholics worldwide — because the Pope dared to... host a prayer meeting with the mayor of Chicago?!

Because apparently crashing the economy, exploding the deficit AND gas prices, attacking judges, setting up a wrestling match on the White House lawn, and dragging America into endless war and political chaos just isn't enough drama for one man.

In a Saturday afternoon “Truth Social” post that looked like it was written by an angry Facebook uncle at 2 a.m., Trump lashed out after Pope Leo XIV met with Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and participated in a multi-faith prayer gathering at the Vatican.

While sharing images of that meeting, Trump posted: "Someone should explain to the Pope that the Mayor of Chicago is useless, and that Iran cannot have a Nuclear Weapon!"

Think about how absurd this is.

Most presidents would treat the Pope with a basic level of respect, even when they disagree.

Trump's response?

He has repeatedly called Pope Leo "weak," attacked him on social media, accused him of being responsible for America's problems, claimed he wouldn't even be Pope if Trump weren't president, and even posted bizarre AI-generated religious imagery portraying himself in Christ-like fashion.

Now, apparently the President of the United States is jealous because the Pope met with the mayor of Chicago at the Vatican, where they discussed their shared opposition to Trump's warmongering.

The Pope's offense appears to be reminding the world that peace matters, that war has consequences, and that political leaders are not all-powerful.

In other words, exactly the kind of message that gets under Donald Trump's skin.

What's especially telling is that Trump seems incapable of handling criticism from anyone who possesses moral authority that he cannot control.

Military leaders? He attacks them.
Judges? He attacks them.
Journalists? He attacks them.
Universities? He attacks them.

And now, once again, the Pope joins the ever-growing list of people Trump can't bully into silence.

Imagine being the President of the United States and spending your weekend feuding with the Pope.

At this point, Trump isn't fighting the Pope because the Pope is wrong. He's fighting the Pope because the Pope represents something Trump has never understood:

Humility.

Maybe next Trump will explain Christianity to Jesus! There is no bottom to his shamelessness, after all...

BREAKING: NOT SO FAST! Federal judge reopens Trump’s IRS case and demands to know if her court was defrauded.

Judge Kathleen Williams has had enough.

In a brief but devastating order Friday, the federal judge in Miami reopened Donald Trump's $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS — a case Trump had voluntarily dismissed last week specifically to avoid her scrutiny — and ordered Trump's lawyers to explain by June 12th why she shouldn't find that the entire scheme was a fraud perpetrated against her court.

The judge's language was pointed and precise. She said she wanted to investigate "grievous allegations" that the deal to resolve the case was "premised on deception." She asserted that she was "empowered to investigate serious misconduct" and demanded answers to two devastating questions: was "the court the victim of a fraud," and did Trump collude with his own government to settle the case specifically "to avoid judicial scrutiny"?

The answer to both questions, based on everything that has already been reported, appears to be yes.

Judge Williams had been circling this case for weeks before Trump pulled it. She had openly questioned how Trump could sue an agency he controls, with government lawyers who answer to him, producing a settlement negotiated with officials he appointed. She ordered both sides to explain whether they were actually adversaries or secretly colluding. Trump dismissed the case the day before those briefs were due.

Then, after she closed it, the Justice Department released not one but two extraordinary agreements — a $1.776 billion fund to compensate Trump's allies, and a separate one-page document permanently barring the IRS from ever auditing Trump, his family, or his businesses. Agreements that had apparently been negotiated while the case was supposedly active before her court.

Judge Williams cited the New York Times report revealing that the IRS had prepared a 25-page memo outlining strong defenses against Trump's suit — defenses the Justice Department never raised in court, never filed, never mentioned.

Her order came directly in response to the filing by 35 former federal judges — appointed by presidents of both parties — who called the scheme a fraud and urged her to reopen the case.

She listened.

"We stand ready to work with the court as it investigates this matter," said Norman Eisen, who represented the former judges.

Trump tried to flip the table before she could see the cards. She just put them back on the table.

Ich erzähle euch die Geschichte von zwei Männern, die auszogen, ein Land zu reformieren.

Der eine war ein Kanzler-Azubi aus dem Hause CDU.

Er hatte viel über Führung gelesen, viel über Konservatismus gehört und irgendwann beschlossen, dass alles, was vor ihm war, falsch gewesen sein musste.

Besonders schlimm fand er den Geist einer früheren Kanzlerin.

Dieser Geist flüsterte Dinge wie Pragmatismus, europäische Vernunft ,gelegentlich sogar Realitätssinn und zu links.

Das konnte der Kanzler-Azubi natürlich nicht dulden.

Also zog er los, um alles auszutreiben, was nach Merkel roch.

Dabei merkte er nicht, dass er auf dem Weg immer öfter bei den finsteren Nachbarn abschrieb.

Dort gab es einfache Sätze, harte Worte und schöne Feindbilder.

Der Azubi nannte das dann konservative Erneuerung.

Der zweite Mann war ein sozialdemokratischer Praktikant.

Er trug einen großen Titel, sah sehr beschäftigt aus und glaubte irgendwann selbst, er sei Führungspersonal.

Früher, unter Brandt oder Schmidt, hätte man ihm vielleicht Kaffee holen lassen.

An guten Tagen sogar Zigaretten.

Heute aber saß er am Kabinettstisch und verwechselte Schweigen mit Verantwortung.

Er hatte vergessen, warum seine Partei einmal groß war.

Nicht weil sie nach unten trat.

Nicht weil sie den Schwachen erklärte, sie seien zu teuer.

Sondern weil sie Arbeit, Würde, Sicherheit und sozialen Aufstieg zusammen dachte.

Nun saßen also der Kanzler-Azubi und der Praktikant zusammen und beschlossen, das Land zu reformieren.

Nur leider reformierten sie nicht.

Sie strichen.
Sie kürzten.
Sie drückten nach unten.

Bei denen, die ohnehin wenig haben.
Bei denen, die gerade so durchkommen.
Bei denen, die keine Lobby haben.

Echte Reformen hätten anders ausgesehen.

Ein Sozialversicherungssystem, das demografiefest wird.

Weniger Finanzierung über Arbeit und Lohn.

Mehr Beteiligung von Kapital, Vermögen und privilegierten Gruppen.

Eine ehrliche Debatte über Rente, Pflege, Gesundheit und Beamtenversorgung.

Aber dafür müsste man sich mit Lobby, Kapital und Beamtentum anlegen.

Das wäre anstrengend.

Das wäre stressig.

Das wäre Politik.

Also nannten sie ihre Streichliste Reform.

Und wenn das Land knirschte, sagten sie:

„Seht her, wir handeln.“

Nur leider fuhr der Wagen weiter Richtung Wand.

Und vorne saßen der Azubi und der Praktikant.

Beide mit ernstem Gesicht.

Beide überzeugt, sie hätten einen Plan.

Und irgendwo im Hintergrund lachte der Geist der Realität.

Friedrich Merz schafft es schlichtweg nicht, mal auf einer Bühne zu sitzen, ohne vollkommen unprovoziert riesige gesellschaftliche Gruppen runterzuputzen. Nun macht er ausgerechnet das Ehrenamt nieder, bezeichnet zum Beispiel Engagement im Sport als "punktuell". Merz: "So ehrenwert das alles ist, Musik, Sport, Umweltschutz, alles gut, alles richtig..." Laut Merz ist das aber alles nicht so viel wert wie Engagement in einer politischen Partei. Merz versteht das Land nicht. Er weiß offenbar nicht, dass solches Ehrenamt nicht punktuell ist, sondern Menschen oft Jahrzehnte lang im Regen auf Sportplätzen stehen, um Kinder zu trainieren und der Gesellschaft etwas zu geben. Vollkommen unbegreiflich, wie man so herablassend darüber reden kann.
