i hate callout culture i hate the obsessive need to purity test every person alive i hate how easily someone changes from being a person to being an acceptable target i hate how little it takes to justify ruining someones life permanently
When I was a teenager, it was always understood that I was not allowed in adult spaces online (SFW or NSFW). That was for my safety but also the comfort of every adult present. But like all teens, I lied and pretended to be 18. Everyone knew this happened.
So it was understood that any interaction I had with an adult was purely my fault. I wasn't supposed to be there.
Somewhere along the line, we took the accountability out of that. We decided draconian measures like age verification and data harvesting should replace common sense and personal responsibility.
It really peeves me that teenagers can enter adult spaces and interact how adults do, then when it's favorable to them, retreat into "I'm a minor btw"
Some kids get away with doing really awful things to adults because of the minor defense.
Minors should not have access to adult spaces but the platforms taking on the role that parents should be doing makes it worse for everyone.
