What voters should do:

• Keep voter details ready.

• Fill Enumeration Form given by BLOs.

• Submit during house visits (BLOs will visit homes 3 times).

• New voters can apply via Form-6

• Submit forms online via @ECISVEEP portal & #ECINET app.

• Helpline: 1950.

• Check draft rolls after July 31 & raise objections/corrections if needed.

Documents needed ONLY if ERO issues discrepancy notice later — not during Enumeration Phase.

Birth proof rules:

Born before July 1, 1987:

• Any one birth/date/place proof

Born between July 1, 1987 & Dec 2, 2004:

• Own birth proof + either parent’s proof

Born after Dec 2, 2004:

• Own birth proof + both parents’ proof

Accepted documents:

Birth Certificate, Passport, Aadhaar (as per ECI norms), School/Matric certificates, Govt/PSU IDs, PPO, Residence/Caste certificates, Family Register, Land allotment papers, Forest Rights Certificate, NRC records (where applicable).

Final electoral roll to be published on Oct 1.

An IPS officer stood alone at Dilsukhnagar bus stop past midnight to understand what women face on Hyderabad streets after dark.

What followed EXPOSED the reality of many MEN today.

From “Will you come?” to vulgar offers and repeated harassment, nearly 40 men approached her between 12.30 AM and 3.30 AM - many drunk, some allegedly under ganja influence. They were students or employees while the officer is in her 50s.

The officer was Malkajgiri CP IPS Sumathi.

But she didn’t stop at catching them.
Those men were identified, counselled and warned about their behaviour towards women.

This wasn’t her first such field exercise. Around 25 years ago, as a young DSP near Kazipet railway station, she had conducted a similar operation to understand women’s safety at ground level.

Even after reaching top ranks, she still chose field reality over office comfort.

While dedication towards policing deserves appreciation, the reality is uncomfortable - for many women, being alone after dark is not safe enough.
