Police shot & killed an unarmed student protester Abu Sayed from point-blank range during a peaceful quota reform protest in Bangladesh. As of 11:00 pm, at least 5 more people have been killed by BCL (ruling party's student wing) in Dhaka, Ctg, Rangpur. #AlleyesonBangladesh

🚨 Many female students were brutally attacked by armed Chhatra League goons, the student wing of ruling Awami League in #Bangladesh.

At least 6 students have been killed so far by police and Chhatra League goons and over 400 have been injured.

Students have been protesting against job quotas for coveted government jobs. The quota system reserves more than half of well-paid government jobs, for specific groups.

Critics say the system benefits children of pro-government groups who back Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
