My condolences. I'm probably losing my job this week thanks to the gout, as well. Can't walk today. I've had it mostly under control for over a decade but sometimes a flare up just happens and wrecks shit.
Blue collar in the sun seems to make it worse, since it's very difficult to stay hydrated. Even if you can stay hydrated, weight loss triggers attacks anyway.

If you want to play the game properly on domestic issues, vote for the party that is opposite to your values in the presidency.
In America, counter culture rules and it has since at least the 60s, maybe longer. Think about all the wins for conservatives during Biden's reign. In the case of the presidency, that office is always focused on international issues, leaving the domestic issues they ran on behind them.
Once a party gets into power, they do exactly what they're supposed to do by those writing their checks. Worse than that, their supporters tend to go dormant, pacified by victory. Nothing is happening on top, but also nothing happens at the grass roots level, either. Meanwhile, the opposition party becomes energized.
