The name is pronounced Sah-bee-nah. Origin Latin and from a group of women known as the “Sabine” in Italy. I have the name “Sabina” because Ethiopians have Italian influences and my mother is full Ethiopian.

Ghanaians, stop calling me “Sab-eye-na”.

@ogoeric Ooo I missed this! Please this year, we went full frills on frills with a side of extra frills 😂. I realised I enjoy the fun fair more than they do in the, so I shall be frilling away till they’re too old at which point, we shall go full frills for the grandkids! 😂😂

Just realised WhatsApp now actively listens (audio) to us. Kept picking up my phone in traffic to open the app and my music would pause - like it usually does when I start a video recording. Went and disabled the app’s access to microphone and voila, music stopped stopping.

Regular Ghanaians in formal employment pay income taxes. With what’s left, we still pay VAT on all goods & services we purchase. The E-levy, for the majority who prefer to go cashless, will mean paying a levy on the VAT component too. I guess we’re going back to “Cash is King”.

@niikwade @kaessuman Exactly! And with all the stress they are putting us through to get Ghana cards and register our SIM cards, I would at least like to hear sensible revisions to the levy like exemptions for PAYE contributors. You can’t take a 3rd of my salary and then still tax what’s left of it!
