This is why I support SpaceX and Elon. This vision of the future is the only one I have seen which can bring humanity into the golden age of limitless abundance without having to destroy the Earth to do it. He is building a ladder which will allow us to climb to the stars.
ELON MUSK: If you’re reading this, SpaceX wants to take you to the Moon and Mars.
"We want to be able to take anyone who wants to go to the moon, anyone who wants to go to Mars or anywhere in the solar system, and maybe beyond the solar system. At some point, we want to be able to take you there, not just a few astronauts, I mean you, literally you.
Whoever you are, SpaceX wants to be able to take you to the moon, take you to Mars, and ultimately beyond, and I’m confident at this point that with the incredible team that we have here at SpaceX, that we will do that for you in a while."
@DrPhiltill Naysayers keep confusing the scale of things built on Earth with what will be built in orbit soon. We will see the rise of giga-projects in space as asteroid and lunar mining come online in another decade. We are just seeing the seeds now of what will bloom this century.
There was a place on the Cumberland river near my hometown where riverboats stopped and connected the wilderness to the outside world. They called it a landing but it was a general store, a hotel, a warehouse, a stockyard and a community. Then the railways came and the river lost it's preeminence. Roads came across the ridge tops and the valley paths were neglected. The buildings toppled and washed away. The people moved. Most of them. Now it's just a gravel road with an unassuming name.
@KySportsRadio This was intentional. The cars went into low traffic neighborhoods and waited there for being summoned for rides. Just like seeing a bunch of Uber drivers or Taxis waiting for someone to need them.
