UPDATE: A retired Assistant Inspector of Police, Joy Mary Nakku, has told the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate's Court that 12 rolls of curtain material allegedly stolen from businessman Hajj Sulaiman Lwabuuka Kasule were recovered from a shop belonging to Kalungu East MP Yusuf Kiruluuta Nkerettanyi. Nakku was testifying in the Shs3.7 billion curtain theft case in which Nkerettanyi and four others are facing charges.

The Youth Progressive Agriculture (YPA) goat farming model is waving massive red flags. They charge UGX 750,000 per goat and promise you will double your herd in three years. This model looks less like an agricultural investment and more like a classic Ponzi scheme.

The most glaring warning sign is their mandatory recruitment policy. Any system requiring participants to recruit new members to sustain operations relies entirely on fresh cash inflows. That structure defines a pyramid scheme.

The biological math also fails the reality test. Goats get sick, markets fluctuate, and mortality rates wipe out expected profits. Guaranteeing perfect reproduction rates ignores the harsh realities of livestock farming. To make matters worse, YPA confiscates your original goats at the end of the three-year contract. You shoulder all the initial financial risk, while they keep your base asset.

Legitimate agricultural investments offer transparent management fees, let you retain full ownership of your animals, and tie returns to actual market sales. They do not guarantee impossible biological outcomes or force you into opaque fee structures.
