What disturbed me was not the arrest. It was the photograph the state itself chose to release: a young man paraded as a security suspect, holding nothing more than a megaphone, in front of a police backdrop.

Three days later, the same object on a different street was filmed as patriotism.

A government that has begun to fear megaphones has usually stayed too long inside the psychology of power.
