🎊Viva La Familia! We're halfway through #ClimateWeekNYC and would like to reflect on the hard work and dedication of one of our community-based nonprofit partners, @SacLFCC and their work to build Sacramento’s first #ClimateResiliencycenter in the Capital City!
For more than 40 years, La Familia has been helping at-risk youth and disadvantaged families in Sacramento improve the quality of their lives through counseling, job training and placement, parenting classes, and health services programs. In May, the @HUDPacific recognized La Familia as Sacramento’s first climate resilience hub, and in August - the @EPA awarded them more than $17 million from the federal Community Change Grant to build their new Opportunity Center/Resilience Hub. La Familia broke ground on the new Center on Sept. 12.
Without the work of community, and people like Rachel Rios and her staff – building a #CaliforniaForAll is not possible. Congrats, La Familia on all your successes! The California Strategic Growth Council is honored to elevate your work and partner in it.
