Aditi's work showing distal CA1 can precess and show theta dynamics comparable to proximal CA1 is finally published in Hippocampus:
https://t.co/GXNfzSwaaw
Together, these papers challenge the notion that distal CA1 is inherently less spatial and correspondingly having weaker theta oscillatory dynamics than proximal CA1 due to the differential projection from LEC and MEC to these areas.

If you are interested in trying your hand at systems/behavioural neuroscience and setting up automated behaviour/tracking systems, my lab is looking for a project assistant: https://t.co/6vuR3IWjA5
This work resolves the mystery of why a range of theta phase precession models show decelerating phase precession, while biological data shows accelerating or linear theta phase precession.
Missing the in-person @SfN_Events again this year due to US visa issues but glad to present my latest work as a virtual poster.
Search for "PSTR438.02" to know how non-theta modulated inputs can shape theta phase precession dynamics. Let's chat

@SfNtweets
Aditi's work shows how non-theta modulated, non- spatial inputs can interact with spatial and theta modulated inputs to generate accelerating theta phase precession seen in biological data.
